Fixes, a new FAQ, and a survey

Fixes, a new FAQ, and a survey
  • New FAQ page to answer common questions quickly.
  • New members-only survey to share your feedback and suggestions.
  • Improved video categorization (countries, duplicate categories).
  • Improved the video upload form for some special fields.

Login, Save Buttons, Cappers Search and Upload Progress

  • Login and signup popups will work more smoothly with password managers. Bitwarden and similar tools should keep showing their autofill menu when you log in, sign up, reset your password, resend confirmation, or contact us.
  • Watch Later and Favorite buttons will show clearer feedback when you add a video to either list.
  • Top Cappers will include a search to quickly find videos from a specific capper, with suggestions limited to cappers who have public videos.
  • Video uploads will keep the progress message visible so you can track the upload status until processing starts.

Clickable timestamps in comments and descriptions

  • When a comment or a video description mentions a time, like 1:45, it becomes a link. Click it and the player jumps straight to that moment. Both minutes:seconds and longer hours:minutes:seconds times work, so full-length videos are covered too. It makes it easy to point someone to an exact part of a video.

Upload, Sidebar, and Source Label Fixes

Maintenance update: Fixes are now in place for uploads, sidebar filters, and video source labels.

  • The upload questionnaire now reduces confusing tag and category validation errors.
  • The sidebar Sound filter now uses the correct internal audio marker.
  • We started recategorizing country data, for example USA is normalized to United States.
  • This same recategorization also helps show video source sites correctly in the sidebar.
  • Video source icons are a work in progress; supported chat platforms now have clearer labels, and more icons will be added over time.
  • Some remaining upload edge cases around tags, categories, and source selection are still being reviewed.

First round of post-launch fixes

First batch of updates after the relaunch, mostly small things we caught while watching the new theme run.

  • This page is new: the site now keeps a public changelog.
  • Duration filters now survive pagination: pick a duration in the sidebar, browse to page two or three, and the filter stays applied. That one was an oversight in the redesign.
  • When you write a private message, the smiley picker now sits in a tidy bar under the text box instead of spilling over the conversation.
  • The top bar now shows a live count of scheduled videos next to the Upcoming link.
  • Video cards in listings got consistent sizing and sharper thumbnails. The glitch depended on screen resolution, so it did not affect everyone or every page.

The redesign is live

The whole site now runs on a rebuilt theme. Same content, new everything else: pages load faster, the layout finally behaves on phones, and the member area was cleaned up from top to bottom.

Beyond the new look, here is what changed and where to find it:

  • Videos that have a transcript now play with closed captions: press the CC button in the player, fullscreen included. The full text sits in the Transcription tab under the video, and members can search spoken words across all videos from the sidebar on video pages.
  • Video lists can be narrowed from the sidebar: quality (including upscaled), duration, country and video type. The filters work on the home page, latest updates and search results.
  • Member profiles keep a watch history you can review and clear, and voting on comments now asks for a free account.
